Nymphomania Definition
Nymphomania is a compulsive sexual behavior which is also called hypersexuality or erotomania where there is the constant and overwhelming need or urge to have sex. It is an impulse control disorder where a person cannot resist the temptation to perform sexual intercourse with another person. It is said referred to by many as the sexual addiction.
Nymphomania Diagnosis
Diagnosis includes is usually guided by the criteria spelled out in manuals and guidelines arranged by psychiatric associations. Psychological evaluation are also used to confirm the condition.
Nymphomania Symptoms and Signs
Symptoms includes uncontrollable and intense urge to have sex and exhibits a sexual behavior which includes having multiple sexual partners without emotional involvements, viewing of pornographic materials, engaging in too much masturbation and being exhibitionism.
Nymphomania Treatment
Treatment includes psychotherapy such as psychodynamics, cognitive behavior therapy and group therapy; oral administration of medications such as antidepressants, anti-androgens and anti anxiety medications.
