Anovulation Causes
Anovulation is said to be caused by stress and anxiety, excessive exercise and weight loss, administration of medications such as steroidal oral contraceptive and long acting injectable steroid contraceptives. It may also be caused by cognetial adrenal hyperplasia and premature ovarian failure.
Anovulation Definition
Anovolution is a medical condition where by there is difficulty in ovulating thereby causing infertility. The ovary in this kind of medical condition fails to release egg which make her unable to conceive.
Anovulation Diagnosis
Diagnosis includes physical examination including review of medical history of the patient. It may also be done through a series of blood test in order to measure prolactin, thyroid stimulating hormone and the functions of the adrenal. Ultrasound, MRI, CT Scan and laparoscopy may also be used to confirm the medical condition.
Anovulation Symptoms and Signs
Symptoms of Anovolution often includes erratic menstrual cycle, amenorrhea and oligomenorrhea.
Anovulation Treatment
Treatment includes administration of medicines that induce ovulation such as clomiphene citrate and pergonal which is the hormone responsible for stimulating the pituitary on the ovary.
