Antimicrobial resistance refers to the ability of bacteria to resist the effects of certain drugs. In this case some bacterial infections become difficult to treat since doctors have to search for a new antidote to treat diseases. Antimicrobial resistance can lead to more serious diseases such as bacteremia, where the bacteria have contaminated the blood.
