Goodpasture pneumorenal syndrome, otherwise known as Goodpasture's disease and anti -glomerular basement membrane disease is a condition wherein there is rapid destruction of the kidneys and hemorrhaging of the lungs.

Goodpasture Pneumorenal Syndrome Symptoms and Signs


Symptoms vary depending on whether the patient's lung and kidney are affected. In case the lungs are affected, the symptoms include serious and more often dry cough and breathlessness. In cases where the patient's kidney is affected the common symptoms include blood leaks in the urine, loss of appetite, high blood pressure and edema or the swelling caused by fluid retention.

It is commonly treated with oral immunosuppressive drugs like cyclophosphamide and corticosteroids.
