Hyperlipidemia
Hyperlipidemia Definition
Hyperlipidemia is a condition in which abnormal levels of lipids are found in the blood. Lipids, or fatty molecules, take part in the body's metabolism process and abnormalities may affect different body functions. High levels of lipids may induce organ problems such as cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerosis and acute pancreatitis. Proper diet and statin therapies are performed to control the production of lipids in the blood.
