Leprechaunism is caused by an autosomal recessive genetic defect in the short arm chromosome 19 (19p13.2).
Leprechaunism Definition
Leprechaunism is a rare medical disorder that exhibits elf-like features on an affected individual. Also called the Donohue syndrome, persons who suffer from Leprechaunism display distorted facial attributes such as protruberant ears, flaring nostrils and thick lips. Other physical features show enlarged reproductive organs and stunted growth.
