Osteogenic Sarcoma Causes
It was believed that the primary cause of this medical condition is repeated trauma that increases the risk factors. This us because the repeated injury to a certain area may increase the osteroid tissue production that is needed to repair tissue damage. Genetics may also play a role in the development of this type of cancer as well as exposure to radiation therapy.
Osteogenic Sarcoma Definition
Osteogenic sarcoma is also called asosteosarcoma and is identified as one of the most common types of cancer of the bones found in children. This medical condition is mostly found in lone bones such as the legs, pelvis and arm bones. This cancer has also been found to be more prevalent among male patients than females. The cancer cells can rapidly spread to other areas of the body and like any other cancer, it is fatal without any medical intervention.

Diagnosis include x-ray, bone scans and magnetic resonance imaging.
Osteogenic Sarcoma Symptoms and Signs
Each patient may experience different symptoms. However, the most common signs include pain at the site of the tumor growth, increase pain during activities, swelling and possible redness of the affected area and limping.
Osteogenic Sarcoma Treatment
Specific treatment for osteogenic sarcoma is usually determined depending on several predisposing factors such as age, extent of disease, tolerance to medication, preference and expectations. Treatment would usually include amputation, surgical removal, chemotherapy, radiation, prosthesis, and rehabilitation.
