Pleuritis is an inflammation of the lining of the pleural cavity surrounding the lungs called pleura that can cause painful respiration and other symptoms. The condition is also called pleurisy.
Pleuritis Symptoms and Signs
Patients may have cough, chills, weight loss, chest pain, shortness of breath, rapid shallow breath, loss of appetite, itching near the site of the lungs, and dizziness.
