Premenstrual Syndrome Definition


Premenstrual syndrome was originally known as PMT or Premenstrual Tension. It is a collection of symptoms such as psychological, physical and emotional which is related to woman's menstrual cycle. For other women PMS can experience severe pain that can be disabling.

Premenstrual Syndrome Symptoms and Signs


The symptoms usually happen two weeks before menstrual period. Symptoms may disappear when menstrual flow occurs but it may also persist even after the flow started. SSRI, fluoxetine (20-60 mg/d dose), sertraline, clomipramine, paroxetine, nefadozone and fluvoxamine. Hormonal contraception ? a combination of oral contraceptives and contraceptive patch. Diuretics ? to take care of water retention. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs Evening Primrose oil
