Pyomyositis
Pyomyositis Causes

Pyomyositis Definition
Pyomyositis is an infection of the skeletal muscles caused by bacteria. Affected muscles show pain and extreme swelling. It is common in tropical countries but also with patients with HIV.
Pyomyositis Diagnosis
Prior muscle injury can be a basis of the onset of pyomyosits, since bacteria can seed into the affected area. HIV-infected patients are prone to this infection as well.
Pyomyositis Symptoms and Signs
Physically, patients feel pain at the different parts of the body. Abscesses meanwhile develop on the skeletal muscles causing them to deteriorate.
Pyomyositis Treatment
Surgical operation and antibiotics are the prescribed treatment for patients with the disease.
