This infection is caused by staphylococcus. Staphylococcus is a type of Gram-positive bacteria. These bacteria are comprised of thirty-one species. It resides usually in the mucous membranes and skin of humans and other organisms and is usually harmless. If it resides deep in the body staph infection can be deadly.
Staph Infection Diagnosis
Physicians diagnose staph infection by checking tissue sample or nasal secretions for signs of the bacteria and are then cultured.

Staph infection symptoms may differ depending on the part of the body that is infected. Skin infections such as boils, impetigo, cellulites, scalded skin syndrome. Staph Infection Treatment
Vancomycin is widely used today to treat the infection because the bacteria are already resistant to penicillin. Physicians try to limit the use of antibiotics because it is likely that germs grew resistant to it.
