Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency
Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency Definition
Sucrose intolerance, also known as Congenital Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency (CSID) or Sucrase-isomaltase deficiency, is the condition in which sucrase, an enzyme needed for proper metabolization of sucrose, is not produced in the small intestine.
