Treponema Infection Definition
Transmitted through sexual contact, treponema is a rare infection caused by the Treponema pallidum bacterium. The bacteria enters the host via breaches in squamous or columnar epithelium. It can also be transmitted to a fetus by transplacental passage during the later stages of pregnancy.
Treponema Infection Symptoms and Signs
In latent stage, symptoms of the disease can be aymptomatic. There can also be some painless skin chancre, painless mucosal chancre, polymorphic rash, and generalized maculopapular rash.

Physicians usually recommend the use of Parenteral penicillin.
