Uterine Fibroids Causes
Uterine fibroids are caused by a single cell which reproduces repeatedly and forms a pale, firm, rubbery mass distinctive from neighbouring tissue. Several factors that contribute in the development of uterine fibroids are genetic alterations, chemicals and hormones.
Uterine Fibroids Definition
Uterine fibroids are seen in the muscle layers of the uterus which are benign tumors. During the reproductive years it affects about 25% of white women and 50% of black women it also the most common neoplasm in females.

Abnormal gynaecologic hemorrhage Painful or heavy periods Discomfort or bloating of the abdomen Back ache Frequent urination or urinary retention Infertility (in some cases)
Uterine Fibroids Treatment
Uterine fibroids do not usually require treatment but if it becomes problematic surgery and medications is needed. Such treatments include hysterectomy, hormonal therapy or uterine artery embolization and HIFU (high intensity focused ultrasound).
